UCD 3 Bray W 1:LATE GOALS from Paul O'Conor and Chris Lyons enabled UCD to climb further out of the relegation zone with an exciting victory over a somewhat unlucky Bray Wanderers side at the Belfield Bowl.
The students got their noses in front on 15 minutes when Bray defender Seán Houston fouled Hugh Douglas in the box. David McMillan made no mistake with the resulting penalty.
College might have stretched their lead when Daniel Ledwith cut inside to hit a piledriver that goalkeeper Darren Quigley did well to push out, only for Clarke to fire the rebound against the upright. Bray were level on 62 minutes when a Waters corner on the right was flicked on by defender Dane Massey to enable Houston to nod home at the far post.
The students then had that dramatic late flourish when first a Ledwith corner was only partially cleared on 83 minutes and Paul O’Conor unleashed a powerful volley that goalkeeper Darren Quigley could only parry into his net.
Three minutes later the icing was on the cake for College when Ledwith combined with McMillan to square the ball for Chris Lyons to roll the ball into the net.
