UCD 0-15 Garda College 0-12:UCD remain on course for a first Sigerson Cup title since 1996 after advancing to the semi-finals with a three-point victory in Templemore yesterday.

They produced an impressive attacking performance which yielded all 15 scores from play as last year’s beaten finalists, Garda, were sent packing.

Wexford’s Ciarán Lyng was the star of the show, chipping in with five points for the winners as a physically-imposing Garda outfit found UCD’s nippy forwards too hot to handle.

With the breeze at their backs, UCD pulled away before half-time to establish a 0-10 to 0-5 interval lead and although Garda rallied midway through the second half, they never looked like catching the winners.
