UCD 3 Monaghan U 2:NEWLY PROMOTED Monaghan United are still looking for their first Premier Division victory of the season after being edged out by UCD at the Belfield Bowl last night.
There were chances for both sides in a goalless first half but College eventually broke the deadlock on 53 minutes. A ball from Robbie Benson found Danny Ledwith and his effort from 20 yards found the corner of the net.
Monaghan were level on 69 minutes when a Jordan Keegan cross was headed home by Conor Murphy.
Cillian Morrison had the Students in front again on 80 minutes when pulling down a cross from substitute Mark Langtry shot.
Paul O’Conor shot home from close range to stretch the home side’s lead. Keegan did have a late consolation goal for Monaghan in the third minute of added time.
