THE final line ups for both the Sigerson and Fitzgibbon weekends should be known by tomorrow evening after the hurling quarter finals conclude. Two colleges remain in the running for a dual appearance - UCC and UCD. The pair meet next week in what promises to be a cracking semi final of the Sigerson Cup, sponsored by Murphy's.

Qualification this weekend will be of particular importance to UCD who are to host the final stages of the Fitzgibbon Cup, sponsored by Bus Eireann, and hope to avoid the fate of the University of Limerick who were eliminated from the Sigerson which they host in a week's time.

UCD are fancied to edge out Maynooth at Belfield tomorrow, despite the customary presence of a strong Galway contingent on the visitors' team. UCC are more strongly favoured to see off Queen's, Belfast, who surprised DCU with a goal burst in the last round.

The remaining semi finalists are to come from the UL UCG and Waterford RTC Garda College matches. Limerick, with current Texaco hurler of the year Sean McMahon on board, are taken to come through, but the fourth qualifying spot is expected to go to the wire. Holders Waterford have lost a number of last year's players, but may hold out for the opportunity to play Limerick or Galway.
