Tyrone's Stephen Donnelly struck a stunning goal five minutes from the end of yesterday's Ulster Minor Football Championship preliminary round tie to give his side a five point victory over Down, 2-10 to 1-8. His sweet, 20 yard strike put his side ahead for the first time in a gripping encounter.
Down had looked the part, but lost their defensive shape after full back Gary Gordon was sent off five minutes into the second half. But they held out stubbornly until the most dramatic dying moments, and a second goal a minute from the end by Richard Thornton sealed it for Tyrone.
