Carrickmore have received a major boost after the Tyrone Games Administration Committee reduced suspensions on a number of the club's players, ensuring that last season's county champions will be back to full strength for next year's championship. The club had 11 players banned following violent incidents at the end of last December's Division One league play-off final, and while some have completed their suspensions, others were destined to miss the whole of next season.

But now goalkeeper Plunkett McCallan and attacker Peter Loughran have had their suspensions reduced from two years to 60 weeks, leaving both free to return to action next March. Defender Eamon Loughran, who had been banned for a year, was reinstated with immediate effect, while former Tyrone panellist Davitt McElroy is free to play again from this week, having originally been ruled out for a year.

Carrickmore, one of the major forces in Tyrone football, struggled this season in the absence of several of their top players. They were knocked out of the senior championship.
