WILLIE MORAN, of the Schoolboys Football Association of Ireland, and the Leinster Association's Bernard O'Byrne have been nominated to succeed Joe Delaney as the honorary treasurer of the FAI. There will be a vote on which of the candidates gets to fill the position when the FAI council meets next Tuesday night.

The other vacancy on the council, senior vice-president, will not be filled until the council meeting of April 26th following a request from the National League that the election be postponed so a single candidate could be agreed.

Under the agreed system of rotating particular FAI posts amongst the association's constituent bodies, the National League is entitled to fill the vacancy and any agreed candidate will therefore be elected to the job.

The meeting on April 26th is also likely to be the first opportunity for the full Bastow Charleton report to be discussed by the full FAI council. The report is expected to be completed in six weeks.
