ALL BUT three members of the Ireland rugby squad named earlier this week will be present for the three day training session which starts this morning and will continue until Sunday. The sessions tomorrow and on Sunday will be closed and will take place outside Dublin.

Scrum half Chris Saverimutto is ruled out by a serious knee injury he sustained playing for Ireland in a seven a side competition in Benidorm the weekend before last. Second row Malcolm O'Kelly and wing Niall Woods are both unavailable because of examination commitments.

Saverimutto faces a protracted period out of the game because of the knee ligament injury and he said yesterday. I have been told I could be out for from six to nine months. There is no way I will be able to play until the new year."
