The contestants in the Connacht club final should be known on Sunday evening (barring draws). Roscommon Gaels and Tourlestrane from Sligo meet in Hyde Park in a match which may have repercussions for the Sligo county team.
Some concern was expressed last week when the Tourlestrane players in the county panel were withdrawn for the opening National League match against Fermanagh - a match they lost by four points.
The players withdrawn included Eamon O'Hara, Gerry McGowan and David Durkin, all central figures in the county side.
Apart from those experienced players the Tourlestrane side is very young, with five players who finished the Leaving Certificate last summer. Several of the Tourlestrane squad have also played at under-21 county level.
Roscommon Gaels, beaten by Tourlestrane in this competition a few years ago, have a number of inter-county panellists in their line up including their captain Clifford McDonald, Tom Lyons, Fergal O'Donnell, Alan Nolan and Michael Ryan.
In the other Connacht semifinal, Killererin from Galway, who surprised An Ceathru Rua in the county final, meet Crossmolina from Mayo who beat the defending Mayo champions Ballina Stephenites, in their county final.
Killererin have the Joyce brothers, Padraig and Tommie, while Crossmolina will call on Mayo star Kieran McDonald for what should be a hard-fought game with the Galway side chasing their first Connacht club championship since 1978.
In Munster the semi-final between Doonbeg of Clare and Laune Rangers from Kerry is fixed for Killarney and in Ulster Bellaghy from Derry meet Enniskillen Gaels from Fermanagh in another semi-final in Clones.
Two county football finals are featured at opposite ends of the country. Nemo Rangers take on UCC in the Cork final.
With the help of Joe Kavanagh, Martin Cronin, Colin Corkery and Steven O'Brien, Nemo are favourites to beat UCC. UCC have Alan Quirke and Michael Cronin who figured in the Cork panel this year while the remainder of the UCC squad is almost entirely made up of Kerry players.
In Armagh, Crossmaglen, the reigning All-Ireland club champions, will have inter-county players such as Oisin McConville, John and Tony McEntee and John Donaldson in action against Pearse Og in Armagh.
In the Pearse Og side Ger Houlahan is the best known figure with Kieran Hughes.
Leinster is the busiest province on the club football scene with four matches down for decision.
