Bayern goalkeeper Hans-Jorg Butt will be fit to play, even if he looks like he has been in the wars after picking up a black eye after a training ground accident. Juve midfielder Hasan Salihamidzic has been ruled out of the trip to his old club due to an injury.

Bordeaux v Maccabi

Bordeaux striker Jussie is suffering from flu, while Fernando and Michael Ciani have not travelled. Maccabi have John Giero Kolma available after a one-match ban.

CSKA Moscow v Besiktas

CSKA have lost their last five Champions League games and eight of their last nine but they were brilliant at home in last seasons UEFA Cup, winning all five games and conceding only one goal.

Besiktas had a disastrous away record in their last Champions League appearance two years ago, losing all three games without scoring, including an 8-0 thrashing in Liverpool.

Milan have never lost to a Swiss side in four matches, including two last season against Zurich in the UEFA Cup,

Real Madrid v Marseille

France midfielder Lassana Diarra, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Christoph Metzelder and Alvaro Arbeloa all miss out for Manuel Pellegrini’s side due to injuries. The Spanish giants could come up against a couple of familiar faces with Fernando Morientes and Gabriel Heinze both now at the French club.

Porto v Atletico Madrid

Porto boss Jesualdo Ferreira will be without the suspended Fernando tonight, while Atletico boss Resino has added Ruben Perez and Sergio Rodriguez to his squad for the trip west, with the non-registered Koke and the injured Juan Valera dropping out from the group that faced Valencia.

Atletico already know from bitter recent experience just how hard it is to win at the Estadio do Dragao, though, having been knocked out at the last 16 stage a year ago.
