Tipperary 1-9 ... Waterford 0-10 Champions Tipperary were joined by Limerick and Cork in the semi-finals of the Munster Minor Hurling championship last evening sending opponents Waterford, Kerry and Clare into the losers' group.
Tipperary had to fight hard for their win over Waterford at Thurles last evening.
Waterford did better early on but missed some good chances. Tipperary punished them when Ritchie Ruth pushed home a goal in injury time of the first half to give his side an interval lead of 1-3 to 0-4.
Waterford levelled after 10 minutes of the second half and looked to be on the way to victory but Tipperary held firm and finished the stronger, clinching victory with a Ruth point in injury time.

Thanks to the marksmanship of Maurice O'Sullivan from frees, Cork shaded it 0-5 to 0-3 at the interval at Kilmallock last evening and left Clare to rue an unacceptable 10 wides.
With Mark Harrington, O'Sullivan and Brian Canty knocking over a further three points inside the same number of minutes at the start of the second half, Cork were on a roll.

It took Limerick until the 10th minute for senior player Pat Kirby to give them the lead at Bruff last evening. And they were still unimpressive despite leading 1-7 to 0-2 at the break with Kirby also claiming their goal.
Kerry lost goalkeeper P J Gorman through injury and also lost their way as Limerick substitute Paudie McNamara rattled in two quick goals and two more followed from Roger Ryan. Raymond Galvin had Kerry's three points from frees.
