TIMARIDA, the crack Irish filly who faces another lucrative payday if she can add the $700,000 Grade One Matriarch Stakes to her laurels at Hollywood Park on Sunday, continues to thrive in California.

The John Oxx charge drilled seven furlongs in 1 minute 28.8 seconds on a yielding Hollywood turf track on Sunday. Timarida gave her lead horse a three length start before easily collaring her workmate and drawing clear by a considerable margin.

Evry, the suburban French track that is due to close its doors next month, today stages its final group race, the £28,985 Prix Saint Roman, for two year olds over nine furlongs. Peter Chapple Hyam's Voyagers Quest is the lone foreign visitor and has place prospects. Longchamp winner, Rate Cut, is another that should go well.

Ken Cunningham Brown's Ten Party and Jack Berry's Volley take the stage in the £18,445 Prix Isola Bella on the same card. Whenby and Ecoute will be tough rivals though.
