RACING CURRAGH SATURDAY:JUST OVER three months after narrowly missing out on a Curragh Group Three prize, The Cheka can go one better in today's featured Minstrel Stakes under Classic-winning rider Tom Queally.

Lolly For Dolly denied The Cheka a Gladness victory in April by a short head and that one’s subsequent Royal Ascot victory has only advertised the merit of that form.

The Cheka has since won a Group Three of his own at Haydock and looked a bit unlucky on his last start behind Libranno.

Today he lines up against seven opponents including Cecil Ross’s stalwart Six Of Hearts. None of them, however, look capable of putting in an effort like Eve Johnson Houghton’s horse did here in April.

Jim Bolger could enjoy a bumper day and there will be a few singed fingers if Sunset Beauty can’t complete a quick hat-trick in the seven-furlong handicap.

After a Gowran success last week, Sunset Beauty easily scored at Leopardstown on Thursday night and carries a 5lb penalty for that comfortable defeat of Beauthea.

Bolger’s 95-rated An Ghalanta should be hard to beat in the opening maiden while the former champion trainer is always to be feared in Nurserys and Tarcisio looks worth checking out today.
