One of Brazil's most famous clubs, Internacional, avoided relegation to the second division with a goal from veteran midfielder Dunga in the 84th minute of their match against Palmeiras last week. But that's when the fun started. Two minutes from time Internacional coach Emerson Leao was sent off for deliberately throwing balls onto the pitch as Palmeiras were mounting a late attack but the ball boys picked up from where he left off, kicking spare balls onto the field whenever the opposition ventured forward. Then, spookily enough, a floodlight failure halted play with two minutes injury time remaining and, after a 15 minute delay, play was restarted, but the referee blew his whistle within seconds. Internacional celebrated like they'd won the league. Palmeiras? They smelled a rat, but said nothing and went home.
