Cork SF
Manager Larry Tompkins has surprisingly omitted team captain Colin Corkery from the side to face Clare in Sunday's Munster championship semi-final at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
The decision to drop Corkery is one of five changes in personnel from the team that beat Waterford last month. Sean O hAilpin was ruled out through the knee injury suffered in a car crash, but the other changes clearly indicate Tompkins' desire to establish a more effective team for what is likely to be a difficult challenge from Clare.
Kevin O'Dwyer is back in goal instead of Alan Quirke. John Ronan McCarthy is dropped from full back. Graham Canty moves from number six to number three, while Ciaran O'Sullivan moves from the attack into the defence, and is named at right wing back. Owen Sexton moves to centre back.
The midfield pairing of Nicholas Murphy and Michael O'Sullivan is unchanged, but coming into the attack are Philip Clifford and Joe Kavanagh. Clifford takes over from Podsie O'Mahony and Kavanagh is an indirect swap for Ciaran O'Sullivan.
Corkery started at full forward the last day, but failed to score, and his position is now filled by Mark O'Sullivan. Other positional switches include Fionan Murray, who switches corners, and Aidan Dorgan, who goes from the corner to the wing.
CORK: K O'Dwyer; J Miskella, G Canty, A Lynch; C O'Sullivan, O Sexton, M Cronin; N Murphy, M O'Sullivan; BJ O'Sullivan, J Kavanagh, A Dorgan; P Clifford, M O'Sullivan, F Murray.
Clare SF
There are just two championship debuts in the team to face Cork on Sunday. Michael O'Shea, a minor from two years ago, gets a starting place at corner forward and Philip Smith gets the call at left corner back.
There is a vacancy left at full back in the hope that Donal O'Sullivan can recover from injury, but definitely ruled out through injury were Martin Daly, Conor Whelan and Denis O'Driscoll - all of whom started in the Munster final against Kerry last year.
Team captain Brian Considine moves from defence and will join Joe Considine (no relation) at midfield. Other changes from the team that fell to Kerry last year sees Niall Hawes and Colm Mullen return to the attack. The Russell brothers, Denis and David, start in the half-forward line.
CLARE: J Hanrahan; P Gallagher, AN Other, P Smith; B Keating, N Hawes, M O'Connell; B Considine, J Considine; D Russell, P Hehir, D Russell; C Mullen, P McMahon, M O'Shea.
Cavan
Manager Van Andrews has delayed naming his team to face Monaghan until later today. A number of players have the 'flu and there are also injury concerns for Mickey Graham and Gerry Sheridan.
Monaghan
Manager Jack McCarville has named the same team that beat Fermanagh for Sunday's Ulster semi-final against Cavan at Clones. There was an injury worry over wing back Padraig McKenna but he is deemed fit.
MONAGHAN: G Murphy; G McQuaid, D McDermott, C Flanagan; D McArdle, J P Moone, P McKenna; J McElroy, J Hughes; D Farmer, D Freeman, R Ronaghan; S Smith, J Meehan, C Tavey.
Donegal SF
JOHN GILDEA has deferred his summer trip to the US and will remain a part of the Donegal panel for the remainder of their championship - starting with the second round meeting with either Kildare or Meath on Saturday week.
