JOHN OXX announced yesterday that Timarida had overcome a fitness scare and will run in tomorrow's Dubai Champion Stakes at Newmarket.
And he also revealed that there is a chance the Aga Khan's globetrotting filly, winner of 10 races in five different countries in the past two seasons, could be back in action next year.
"No final decision has been made on retiring her after this season," the trainer said.
"His Highness' inclination is to retire her as she has done enough and he is anxious to see her on his breeding farm but nothing has finally been decided."
"We haven't really looked much beyond Newmarket but she has a few options after the Champion Stakes and if she is fit and healthy she could carry on and have another run, though she has been on the go a while yet," Oxx said.
Timarida was given the all clear for tomorrow's Group One contest after a workout yesterday morning. "We can't see anything wrong with her today," Oxx said.
Meanwhile, at Downpatrick Teal Bridge is expected to give the Australian jockeys another win in their bid for the jockeys challenge title after his second to Castalino at Thurles, while The Odin Line is entitled to preference on the strength of his four length second to Castleroyal at Down Royal in the Janssen Animal Health Beginners Chase.
. To mark its end of season meeting tomorrow, the Curragh racecourse will give the first 500 racegoers a free £2 Tote bet and a voucher for a free glass of punch when purchasing their admission tickets. The turnstiles will be open from noon with the feature races being the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes and the Blandford Stakes.
"We are looking forward to an enjoyable day's racing which will cap a very good year for the Curragh," said manager Brian Kavanagh. "We expect to end the year with attendances up six per cent on 1995 - a year which saw the Curragh achieve record attendances."
