WALTER SWINBURN'S return to the track for the start of the flat season is likely to be delayed.
Swinburn is recovering well from the head injuries, broken ribs and bruised lungs sustained in a fall from Liffey River at Sha Tin, Hong Kong, 10 days ago.
He will be unable to return home until his lungs are fully recovered from the battering they took. "He dearly wants to be back in time for the start of the season but failing that he says he will definitely return for the Craven meeting, Swinburn's brother Michael said yesterday.
"But he is restricted from leaving Hong Kong for three weeks or a month because he is not allowed to fly until the lungs are fully recovered.
His brother added: "Hopefully, Walter will be out of hospital later this week."
