Former Derry City striker, Gary Heaney, grabbed a hat-trick as Swilly Rovers cruised into the last 16 of the FAI Cup. Heaney gave Swilly a dream start when he poked home Martin Doherty's cross after just five minutes. Barely 22 seconds of the second half had elapsed when Heaney pounced for his second after a bad error by Barry Reilly.

Heaney completed his hat-trick midway through the second half after a quick free kick by Maurice Laverty. Further goals from Doherty and substitute Stephen Donaghy completed a comfortable win for the Ulster side.
