There was good news for Irish judo last night when Sean Sullivan of Belfast was belatedly added to the Irish Olympic team bound for Atlanta.
Sullivan, who competes in the Under 60 kilo category, missed out on qualification originally by a whisker, and was second substitute for Atlanta. His chance to travel came when both the original competitor and the first substitute were injured this week.
Sullivan was informed of his good fortune last night and his participation will be formally ratified tonight.
