MUNSTER overcame a half-time deficit of six points to defeat Connacht in an exciting under-18 interprovincial, played at a windy Galway Sports Ground on Saturday.
Connacht fullback Aiden Poniard was on target with three penalties. The first of these came after only five minutes, while Munster's first score of the game was a penalty from right winger Colin Cronin.
The second half was to prove advantageous to the victors, whose first try came from full-back
Andrew Morrissey and with Cronin's conversion they were 10-9 in front. Munster's second try came from No 8, David Quinlaa, midway through the half. There was only nine minutes left when Colin Cronin kicked an accurate penalty to leave nine points between the sides.
