What a month of September it has been for Newbridge's Kate Stafford, who won two of the club's most popular competitions. Her first success came in the president's prize when she amassed 83 points to see off the challenge of Angela Nugent, who claimed runners-up spot with 75 points.
Then, only last Saturday, competing in the monthly medal and having reduced her handicap from 31 to 26, she proved that despite losing five shots it wasn't going to stop her winning. Her nett total of 75 gave her a two-shot victory over Marie Cullen (36), while Therese Hegarty (33) was a further two shots adrift on 79.
