Craig Stadler won the BC Open PGA Tour tournament by one shot in New York on Sunday, a week after landing a Champions Tour title.

Stadler, who celebrated his 50th birthday last month, shot a nine-under-par 63 to finish on 21-under 267 and take home the first prize of $540,000.

After hitting into the water off the 18th tee, Germany's Alex Cejka (67) finished joint second on 268 alongside Steve Lowery (72). Australia's Rod Pampling (66) was fourth on 269.

Stadler won one of the Champions Tour's major tournaments, the Ford Senior Players Championship, last week.

He began the final round of the BC Open eight shots behind Lowery but quickly made up ground with a six-under 31 on the front nine.
