LEINSTER COLLEGES SH A LEAGUES RD TWO: St Peter's, Wexford 1-3 Westmeath Schools 0-4IN A tie restricted to 20 minutes per half due the late arrival of the Westmeath side, St Peter's claimed victory in a match played out in a downpour at the Éire Óg ground in Carlow yesterday.
Michael Murray, Westmeath’s only scorer, pointed a 10th-minute free but on 18 minutes Wexford minor Andrew Kenny drove a penalty to the Westmeath net as they led 1-0 to 0-1 at the break.
The sides were level 1-1 to 0-4 entering the final four minutes, but a brace of points from play by St Peter’s midfielder Thomas Campbell and right corner forward Jack O’Connor gave the Wexford college the victory.
