ST MARY'S COLLEGE, holders of the Leinster Senior Cup, have delayed until today the selection of their side to open their defence of the trophy against Lansdowne at Templeville Road this evening (6.0).

Injuries sustained by their international number eight Victor Costello their under 21 international out Fergal Campion mean that both are unlikely to be fit to play. Mary's problems were compounded in their league match against Cork Constitution last Saturday when Nicky Barry, Gareth Halpin and team captain Barry Browne were all injured.

Lansdowne will be without captain Brian Glennon and international out half Eric Elwood. Alan Reddan and Brian Geraghty will be in the centre and Johnny Woods is again at out half. Lansdowne give a senior competitive debut to second row Aidan McCallim.

The teams drew 8-8 in the league a fortnight ago. Extra time will be played tonight in the event of a similar outcome. The winners meet Wanderers in the quarter final next Saturday.
