Defending champions St Kieran's College did the business and got the victory that booked a place in the final of the Leinster Colleges senior hurling league when they beat St Peter's at Bennettsbridge yesterday.

St Peter's missed a lot of chances early in the first half and they paid the penalty when a 26th-minute goal from Eoin Reid took St Kieran's into a 1-3 to 0-1 half-time lead. The losers pressed hard afterwards but were restricted to just four points from Eoin Quigley, all from frees.

Leinster Vocational Schools A title-holders, St Fergal's remain on course for the double following their impressive 1-17 to 4-3 victory over Kilcormac in an entertaining semi-final at Birr yesterday. St Fergal's, with Martin Phelan, Tom Drennan and Joe Fitzpatrick in excellent form, led at the interval by 1-13 to 0-2.
