Teenagers Yuliya Efimova and Anastasia Zueva set world records in the women’s 50 metres breaststoke and backstroke at the Russian championships yesterday. Efimova (17) this month, clocked 30.05 seconds in the final of the 50 metres breaststroke to better her own mark of 30.23 which she set just 45 minutes earlier in the semi-finals at Moscow’s Olympic pool. Zueva (18) swam 27.47 seconds in the final of the 50 metres backstroke to shave 0.01 off the record she had set in the preliminary heats earlier in the day.
