A round-up of today's other stories in brief
Keane offered testimonial dates
Roy Keane has been offered some dates at the end of the season to play the testimonial which was agreed as part of his severance package with Manchester United. The availability of players and potential commitments to next season's Champions League qualifiers means it is easier for Keane to arrange the game at the end of the current campaign.
It is thought the week starting Monday, May 8th, is the most likely time for any game, especially as Celtic will not be in the Scottish Cup final the following weekend.
Ronaldo out for three weeks
Real Madrid striker Ronaldo will be sidelined for three weeks after suffering a recurrence of a calf injury in his right leg. The Brazil international, who sustained the original injury when he resumed training after the winter break, returned to action against Villarreal on Sunday after missing his side's King's Cup game against Athletic Bilbao last Tuesday. He survived only 33 minutes before limping off.
Ronaldo has missed all six of Real's Champions League matches this season because of injury and suspension.
Vieri poised for Monaco move
Christian Vieri's move from AC Milan to Monaco is set to be completed today after the two clubs reached an agreement over the Italian international's transfer.
Vieri (32), who has been mostly out of favour at Milan this season, will undergo a medical before being unveiled as a Monaco player. He joined Milan from city rivals Inter six months ago, but Andriy Shevchenko and Alberto Gilardino have stayed ahead of him in the pecking order.
Top clubs close in on Walcott
Theo Walcott's representatives are due to meet with leading Southampton officials this week to decide the 16-year-old striker's future, with Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal emerging as the frontrunners to capture the English game's most exciting prospect.
