Slovenia coach Srecko Katanec is confident his team can surprise Romania today despite their lack of pedigree.
"Romania is far ahead with regards to tradition, their past success and the quality of their players, who play for excellent teams.
"They are absolute favourites, but we won't overestimate, nor underestimate them," Katanec told a news conference.
"Mistakes will be decisive. The team that makes fewer mistakes will win," he added.
Slovenia received a major blow on Wednesday when top scorer Zlatko Zahovic was ruled out for both matches with an abdominal injury.
Romania coach Gheorghe Hagi's main problem is finding the right man to replace injured central defender Iulian Filipescu.
