SLIGO ROVERS maintained their unbeaten sequence of results in the Premier Division but had to settle for a share of the spoils against struggling Home Farm Everton at the Showgrounds on Saturday night.
With striker Ian Gilzean again missing through injury, Sligo had to re shuffle their pack and although they enjoyed the greater share of possession, they lacked sufficient penetration up front.
Home Farm Everton defended stoutly throughout and occasionally threatened on the break. Indeed, but for smart goalkeeping by Alan O'Neill, Sligo might well have slumped to their first defeat of the season.
Cleareut chances were few and far between although Sligo's James Mulligan and Padraig Moran both wasted good opportunities in the opening half.
The closest Sligo came to breaking the deadlock was in the 56th minute when Moran forced the ball beyond the reach of the advancing Brian O'Shea only to see John Coady scramble the ball off the line.
