Skryne 0-12 Castletown 0-10:MEATH KINGPINS Skryne went into their Leinster quarter-final at Páirc Tailteann as favourites but they had to work very hard in order to advance to get the better of their Wexford opponents.

Castletown went in to a three-point lead in the opening seven minutes. County goalkeeper Anthony Masterson, who fills an attacking role for his club, fired them ahead from a 45.

The advantage was increased when James Holmes raced down the middle before getting on target and corner-back Conor Carty moved upfield to slot over a close-in free.

Ian Davis got Skryne on the board with a well-taken shot after eight minutes and the same player shot two points inside the last five minutes to book a place in the province’s last four.
