Skerries Community College, who won the senior A title last week, completed an impressive double at Donnybrook yesterday as their juniors proved far too strong for Newpark in a somewhat disappointing final. They showed their intent early on when driving the opposition pack back on a Newpark scrum and except for a late try by Stephen O'Hara, the Skerries line was never in danger.

Central to Skerries' victory was an ability by the backs to penetrate, and with just three minutes gone full back Gary Levins eluded a tackle to send wing Owen Keane over for a try on the right. Midway through the half, centre Micheal Campbell extended Skerries lead with a score under the posts and Levins's conversion coupled with a 24th-minute penalty led them comfortably ahead by 15 points to nil at the interval.

Newpark were constantly forced back by a Skerries outfit who consistently got their tackles in.

This made for a one-sided second half with Skerries picking off two more tries after the break. Damian Kirwan made it 20-0 on 40 minutes, while the second try was a fine individual effort from their left wing Conor Shiels.
