Skerries beat Clontarf at Castle Avenue yesterday to book their place in the semi-finals. Two tries in the first half from David O'Sullivan and Billy Mulcahy surprised Clontarf, although they crawled back to lead 13-10 at the break thanks to the efforts of Ritchie Murphy and Mick Fitzsimons.
It was Skerries all the way in the second half, however, and they forced two penalty tries after Clontarf consistently collapsed the scrum within yards of the line.
A late try from Brian Higgins was enough to secure the surprising victory for Skerries.
