Strange goings-on on pitches in Iran and Norway these past few days. Iran? Saipa striker Mohsen Rassuli was suspended for six months and fined $1,200 for taking his shirt off and pulling down his shorts when he celebrated his goal in a televised match. Rassuli, who was making his debut for Saipa, was, we should quickly point put, wearing underwear at the time, but the Islamic court that passed sentence still saw more than they deemed acceptable.
Meanwhile in Norway, Surnadal goalkeeper Olav Kre Fiske had one of those moments he won't tell his grandchildren about. Surnadal's cup tie against Sunndal had gone into extra time when poor auld Olav decided he desperately needed a wee. So, he legged it to the touchline to answer nature's call but in his absence Sunndal's Tor Oddvar Torve lobbed the ball from 40 yards into the empty net. Sunndal won 1-0. Surnadal plan to appeal, but on what grounds we can't imagine.
