SCRUM HALF Ian Sherwin, who won a Munster Junior Cup medal last Saturday, has the chance to complete a notable double next Sunday when he plays in the Shannon side against Cork Constitution in the Senior Cup final Musgrave Park.

Sherwin, who has been a member of the Shannon squad for the past two years and collected All Ireland League medals as a consequence, takes over from Gavin Russell. That is the only change from the team which defeated Young Munster in the semi final last weekend when Sherwin came on as an injury time replacement for Russell but gains the berth on merit for the final. He won a McCorry Cup medal with Greystones before going to Limerick to study.

Constitution will not select their team until tomorrow night as they have a few players under treatment for injury. But they could be unchanged from the side that defeated Sunday's Well. Second row Ultan O'Callaghan and flanker Jerry Murray are expected to recover from injuries.

Wing Denis O'Dowd, who missed last weekend's match because he was abroad, is not due back until Sunday morning, so Constitution could stand by his replacement in the semi final, Anthony Horgan.

Lansdowne, who meet Terenure College in the final of the Leinster Senior Cup at Lansdowne Road on Sunday, will he unchanged from the team that defeated Old Belvedere in the semi final. Ray Hennessy and Shane Leahy, who have both been out injured for the cup campaign, are fit again. But their lay off has obviously impaired match fitness, so Lansdowne have retained Peter Devcieh at full back and Aidan McCullen in the second row.

For scrum half Fergus Aherne and back row Jim Sharkey the cup final will mark their last matches for the club. They both retire after the match.

Terenure make two changes from the side that won the semifinal against Clontarf. Ronan Browne comes into the centre for David Lynagh, while Colin Potts returns to the second row for Mick Quinn.
