Jason Sherlock won't play for Shamrock Rovers again this season. The club confirmed yesterday they would be holding over until next season the remaining one year on Sherlock's current contract.
Because of the increased training commitments with Shamrock Rovers it has proven difficult for Sherlock to combine his television and GAA commitments with his soccer career and an agreement was reached between the player and Rovers' manager Damien Richardson yesterday morning.
The matter came to a head over the weekend when Sherlock was reportedly unfit to play for Rovers in their game in Derry due to a groin strain sustained playing GAA.
But he was fit enough to play for Na Fianna on Sunday.
Rovers confirmed that Sherlock is not on the transfer list and cannot play for anyone else until he fulfils his contract.
