Racing in Britain looks set to be hit hard by wet weather again this weekend, with tomorrow's main meeting at Sandown looking doubtful.
Ludlow is today's only jumps action following the abandonment of Towcester, while tomorrow's meetings at Huntingdon and Uttoxeter are subject to inspections this afternoon.
Conditions at Sandown are described as "barely race-able", and with further heavy rain forecast an inspection has been called for 9.0 a.m. today.
It is a similar story at Uttoxeter, who are set to inspect at 3 p.m. today. Clerk of the course David McAllister said: "It is race-able at the moment but it is wet and we couldn't take an awful lot of rain."
Prospects for tomorrow's meeting at rain-hit Huntingdon were described as "doubtful" by clerk of the course Hugo Bevan. But he stressed that the track drains quickly and hopes the fixture will come through an inspection at 3.0 p.m.
Haydock appears to offer the best hope of jumps racing tomorrow. The Merseyside track has escaped the worst of the weather.
Lingfield stage an all-weather meeting tomorrow and are taking action to prevent the much criticised equi-track surface from becoming waterlogged.
Wolverhampton have lost their last two meetings.
