SHAMROCK ROVERS last night announced details of the future plans for the club, including the building of a 10,000 all-seater stadium in Tallaght.

The ownership of the club has changed hands. The new owners are Alan McGrath, managing director of the Premier Computer Group, Brian Kearney, a board member of the new national radio station Radio Ireland, and Mark Howell, an accountant who manages Premier's financial affairs. These three form the new board.

Alan O'Neill and Terry Eviston will run the team following their reappointment as joint managers at the end of last season. Former player Pat Byine has been appointed commercial manager.

The club hope to get the go ahead for building work on the new ground before Christmas. The site, opposite The Square in Tallaght, is to be leased from South Dublin County Council. They hope to complete phase one of the development in 1997.

The ground is unlikely to be ready for the start of the 1997/98 season. In the meantime Shamrock Rovers will ground share with Shelbourne at Tolka Park, playing their home games on alternate Friday nights.

Meanwhile, St Patrick's Athletic yesterday relented in their earlier stand and agreed to defer the home leg of their UEFA Cup tie against Slovan Bratislava for 24 hours until July 18th.

Bohemians, who meet Dinamo Minsk in the same competition at Dalymount Park next Wednesday, had voiced their objections to staging two European games in Dublin on the same evening.
