LEAGUE OF IRELAND PREMIER DIVISION Bray Wanderers 0 Shamrock Rovers 0:SHAMROCK ROVERS stuttered and stumbled to their fourth consecutive league draw after being held by bottom-of-the-table Bray Wanderers in a highly competitive clash at the Carlisle Grounds last night.

This was only Bray’s sixth point of the season from 17 games and while they are still very much favourites to be relegated, this performance will give great heart to manager Eddie Gormley.

Rovers dominated early on but the the usually reliable Gary Twigg was wide with an attempted lob over Brian Kane.

Dave Webster twice came to Bray’s rescue when blocking further Twigg efforts before Dessie Baker shot wide when well placed.

Bray defender Shane O’Connor was sent off for a second bookable offence and then his side were denied a penalty after it appeared Danny Murphy had taken down Shane O’Neill with four minutes remaining.
