TWO SUPERB tries by Rockwell outhalf JJ Hanrahan stunned favourites St Munchin’s in the Munster Senior Cup semi-final at Clanwilliam yesterday. Rockwell deserved their win while St Munchin’s knocked-on at crucial stages and they missed three penalties.
Hanrahan’s first try came after eight minutes when he spotted a gap in the defence and raced clear from 30 metres. His second was a replica from 40 metres. Fullback Paul McEvoy converted both. They held that lead until stoppage time in the first half. St Munchin’s hooker Eimhin Hogan touched down but Mike Madden missed the conversion.
