ALTHOUGH racing from an unfavourable draw in the centre of the track, Best Before Dawn made virtually all the running to win the Mollies Handicap, the first of three quick winners for Christy Roche at Navan yesterday.

The top weight, isolated on the stands side, prevailed in a tight finish, beating San Michel by a neck at odds of 7 to 1 for Roche and an absent Aidan O'Brien.

The pair got a second winner when Check The Band, dropping down in both class and distance, made light work of landing the spoils in the Bohermeen E.B.F. Race.

Roche brought his tally for the season to 49 winners and completed his treble when Olympic Majesty, the reserve, made a winning debut in the Royal Tara E.B.F. Maiden.
