DUBLIN have recalled Charlie Redmond to the team for Sunday's National Football League, Division Two match against Cavan at Parnell Park. Redmond, one of seven changes, hasn't played for the county since the All Ireland final. Jason Sherlock is named on the bench and is expected to make an appearance at some stage.

Like Redmond, Sherlock hasn't played competitively since the All Ireland final. Other members of the championship team to return are Ciaran Walsh, Paul Bealin and Mick Galvin, although another, Paddy Moran, is dropped.

Ger Regan and Dermot Harrington come into the half back line to replace Paul Curran, under suspension, and Keith Barr, injured. Senan Moylan loses out at midfield to accommodate Bealin.

Up front, Niall Guiden returns from suspension to replace Ken Lawlor, while Redmond and Galvin displace Martin Doran and Vinny Murphy. The general shake up sees Dessie Farrell - return to centre forward. Joe McNally retains his place.

Cavan have, not surprisingly, opted for an unchanged team for the potentially decisive game against Dublin. Victory could see the Ulster team confirm promotion to Division One for the first time in seven years. The side that plunged 1994 All Ireland champions Down to a daunting relegation battle, in Breffni Park last week, is retained for the task.

All Ireland finalists Tyrone welcome back Adrian Cush for Sunday's Division One match in Ennis. Cush hasn't actually started a competitive match for the county since last June's Ulster championship game against Derry.

He replaces Stephen Lawn - himself the victim of an ankle injury - in the only change from the team which snatched a late draw from Kerry in last week's League match in Dungannon, during which Cush made a satisfactory re appearance.

Jody Gormley is named on the bench after completing a three month suspension. Originally the punishment was five months, but after an appeal to Croke Park, it was reduced.

Derry's experimentation with their first team continues for the weekend's meeting with Donegal. The team shows no fewer than 10 changes from the side that beat Kildare. Goalkeepers Jonathan Kelly and Damien McCusker maintain their alternating appearances. Paddy Downey from Bellaghy comes in at full back in place of Dermot Heaney.

Donegal have delayed announcing their team until this evening. Manager PJ McGowan was waiting for reports on a number of players: Mark Crossan, Sean McEwan, Brian Murray and Noel Hegarty are all doubtful, while Patrick Cunningham spent two nights in hospital with a broken jaw, sustained against Meath last week.

Kerry have made three changes for Sunday's match against Laois. Two of the omissions are forced because of Laune Rangers' All Ireland club final on February 18th. Mike Hassett and Billy O'Shea are replaced by Killian Byrnes, making his senior debut after featuring in the summer's under 21 All Ireland success, and James O'Shea.

Maurice Fitzgerald is considered unlikely to take the AN Other position at full forward as his knee injury is still causing problems. William Kirby is a possible replacement in a position he fills for Tralee RTC.

Laois's selectors have left a vacancy at midfield for the match against Kerry. It is the only change from the team that beat Clare last week and is enforced because of Tony Maher's dismissal, which leaves him suspended. David Sweeney is likely to get the nod to partner PJ Dempsey.

. Meath centrefielder Jimmy McGuinness has dropped the idea of joining the Erin's Isle club in Dublin. The proposed transfer had attracted a deal of controversy and was before the Leinster Council until the player himself withdrew the application.
