WOMEN'S HOCKEY:THERE WERE no surprises in Saturday's Leinster Division One games, the top five all getting the better of their bottom five opponents, scoring 22 goals between them and conceding just one.

It’s as you were, then, at the top of the table, Railway Union leading UCD by two points and Loreto by four.

Two goals from Jean McDonnell helped Railway to a 3-0 win away to Trinity, a victory that maintains that cushion at the top with just four games left to play.

Their closest challengers, though, kept up the pressure with comfortable home wins, Jeamie Deacon scoring twice in UCD’s 5-0 defeat of Corinthians and international Nikki Symmons also contributing a double in Loreto’s 4-0 win over Glenanne.
