RICHARD QUINN moved on to the 90 mark for 1996 with a runaway victory on Victoria's Secret in the opening Gillespie's Malt Stout Maiden Handicap at Musselburgh yesterday.
Stirling born Quinn drove his Mick Channon trained mount past Atienza just before the two furlong pole. And Victoria's Secret, 5 to 2, finally breaking her duck at the 21st attempt, went clear to beat that rival by 10 lengths.
Lesley White, Channon's representative said: "This filly is in foal to Piccolo, who won the Kings Stand and Nunthorpe Stakes for our yard. In fact we've got a few in foal to Piccolo, who is in his first season at stud.
"Victoria's Secret will probably have another outing before being retired, but at the end of the day, the most important thing is that she's won a race, which boosts the paddock value."
