National Football League: Division Two A: As expected, Fermanagh overcame Leitrim at Brewster Park yesterday - but only just.
In the dying seconds, Barry Prior almost made contact for the goal that would have given Leitrim both points.
Leitrim manager Dessie Dolan was critical of the use of yellow cards. "When you think about it seriously, you have stronger counties where five or six players could come off and it doesn't make that much difference, but for a county like Leitrim where we don't have a strong panel, and you have two or three main men sent off, it becomes a very difficult situation."
At half-time Leitrim led by 0-6 to 0-4, but in the second period Fermanagh captain Shane McDermott came on at midfield and from that to the finish the game was much more evenly balanced.
