Price's Hill has ideal opportunity

PRICE'S HILL will relish the severe test of stamina offered by the Ladbroke Handicap Chase at Towcester today

PRICE'S HILL will relish the severe test of stamina offered by the Ladbroke Handicap Chase at Towcester today. This is a 25-furlong slog around one of the stiffest tracks in Britain.

And the nine-year-old is a dyed-in-the-wool stayer whose two successes last term came over marathon trips on softish ground.

So it was encouraging to see his finishing a close second in unsuitably fast conditions at Wincanton on his reappearance earlier this month, particularly as he'd have gone close to winning but for two late mistakes.

Things will be much more in Price's Hill's favour today and trainer Kim Bailey looks to have found the ideal opportunity for the gelding to resume winning ways.

He has already made a successful transition from novice company, beating a field of experienced handicappers with something to spare over this course and distance a fortnight ago. Kenmore-Speed looks to have little more on his plate this time.

Three Weeks appears the best bet at Wolverhampton in the Bridgetown Handicap.
