Both are well aware that other clubs treat a match against the big two as a kind of cup final. Already Rangers have had trouble with Motherwell this season, while Celtic have struggled against Falkirk, the teams they face today.

Smith brings back Australian defender Craig Moore for the match at Ibrox, while Richard Gough has not yet recovered from a back injury. Ally McCoist will be checked in the morning.

Celtic travel to Falkirk one point behind Rangers and with only Phil O'Donnell unavailable through injury.
