Alex Ferguson expects defender Rio Ferdinand to return by the end of September but midfielder Anderson (cruciate) is much nearer a comeback after returning to training. The United boss also feels an extra week’s training will prove beneficial for the likes of Michael Owen and Michael Carrick.
