THE performances of I'm Supposin and Predappio in filling the minor places behind Pilsudski in the Royal Whip at the Curragh, were enhanced when the winner was subsequently successful in a Group One event in Germany. The placed pair meet again in the Ardilaun House Hotel Oyster Stakes at Galway this evening and are likely to dominate the finish.
I'm Supposin only success this season came in the Harp Lager Derby in which he carried topweight, but he has been placed in all but one of his other eight outings. He was a head in front of Predappio at the Curragh and this additional two furlongs will be to his liking.
Predappio will, however, be running over 12 furlongs for the first time, but the extra distance will hardly trouble to the Polish Precedent colt who may be even better next season. He wore blinkers in the Royal Whip, hut they are dispensed with today.
His previous outing, when running Idris to less than a length also at the Curragh, was another high class effort and he may he improving sufficiently to see off the challenge of I'm Supposin.
Mystik Day, who reverted to maiden status after his Killarney race was awarded to the second home, Dream Project, at a Turf Club appeal, might be the answer in the Long Walk EBF Maiden. The Dermot Weld newcomer, Stage Affair, is likely to pose the main danger.
On the face of it, Dream Project let the form down badly at Tralee on his next outing, but the soft ground he encountered then might be the explanation for that display. If that proves the case, the Project Manager colt should be capable of winning the Donnellys of Barna Nursery from what seem a reasonable mark.
Second over two miles to Reeves at Tralee, Bamapour is back to his best distance in the CT Electric EBF Handicap Hurdle, in which he will be fitted with blinkers for the first time. He has Black Queen and Taits Clock to beat.
