Ciaran Power has finished fourth overall in the Herald Sun Tour in Australia. After 15 stages over 11 days, Michael Blaudzun of Denmark, riding with the Jack and Jones team, emerged best with Tomas Konecny and Jan Hrusha, both from the Czech Republic, second and third at 1:25 and 2:59 respectively with Power of the Comeragh club in Waterford 4:04 in arrears.
Morgan Fox was next best of the Irish in 10th place at 10:32. Dermot Finnegan was 35th, Michael McNena 51st and Eugene Moriarty 54th of the 63 who survived from 85 starters.
It was tight at the top until Saturday morning's time trial when Blaudzun was fastest. In yesterday's final stage criterium in Melbourne, Swiss Michael Themann escaped near the end and won by two seconds with Power beaten in the bunch sprint for second place.
