Power flowering

The golfing fortunes of Tramore member Rose Power blossomed in last week's sunshine

The golfing fortunes of Tramore member Rose Power blossomed in last week's sunshine. She captured the Captain's (Lelia Hall) Prize with a 68 nett on the par-75 track and the following day recorded 42 points for second place behind Honor Cassidy in a sponsored singles competition. Rose Power is a sister of former Irish Close champion Eddie Power and thus, somewhat confusingly, a sister-in-law of former Irish women's champion Eileen Rose Power. Her own golfing ambitions are more modest, but her handicap has dropped from 16 to 12.
